MAIT helps manufacturer of injection molded precision parts on their way to becoming a smart factory

Präzisions-Kunststoff-Teile GmbH, or PKT for short, is at home in many sectors. These include high-tech industries such as medical technology, telecommunications and the automotive sector.

Based in Tiefenbronn, Germany, PKT specializes in precision injection molded parts weighing between 0.002 g and 30 g. The company's highly automated production facilities and full-service approach, which includes consultancy, design, tooling and process-reliable manufacturing, create significant added value for its customers.

In 2018, PKT decided to modernize its IT infrastructure in order to be better prepared for future digitalization issues and the associated growing standards for increasingly complex work processes. As their IT partner they chose MAIT Germany GmbH. An important part of the IT technologies implemented by MAIT is the virtualization of servers, networks, storage, IT management and the associated consolidation on a single platform. MAIT's partner Hewlett-Packard-Enterprise (HPE) products are used to provide a scalable network that spans part of a building: Flex-Fabric and Software Defined Storage enable PKT to meet future network speed standards with confidence.

When implementing the new IT concept, the medium-sized company from Baden-Württemberg benefited in particular from MAIT's own IT solutions: The IT partner offers its customers a modular system of service and cloud solutions that can be easily connected to the company's own IT infrastructure. MAIT solutions include and combine IT technologies and services. IT workstations and peripherals are connected, as are the central data center server environments and the machines in the tool shop.

Security is a key issue for the new IT concept: The implementation of the 'Next Generation Security' solution from Sophos as a unified gateway cluster and a failover and disaster recovery plan for emergencies with shorter recovery times and data protection mechanisms, in addition to the segmentation and optimization of the network, make a significant contribution to greater IT security.

PKT can now experience MAIT's partnership approach in practice. MAIT places particular emphasis on personal on-site support in areas such as IT security, IT management and storage. Support through managed services, helpdesk, consulting/assessment, hardware services and maintenance round off the company's claim to be an equal partner.
