The first Vom Fass shop opened in Regensburg in 1994. The business idea of offering wines, spirits, vinegars and oils by the liter and filling them into attractive bottles and containers according to customers' wishes quickly proved successful.

Standards

Vom Fass currently has over 240 franchisees worldwide. As the company grew, so did its IT standards. In the fall of 2009, Vom Fass commissioned MAIT to implement its complex business processes using an ERP system and to host the system at the MAIT data center in Pforzheim, Germany.

Our solution

With the installation of the ERP system for international corporate structures, all relevant commercial processes, such as intercompany invoicing, are now handled by the system. The system also handles logistical processes such as order picking/outgoing goods for approximately 15,000 material bookings per day, including stocktaking, empties management and liquor tax storage. Orders from the web shop are checked and then transferred to the order processing department. The mobile applications implemented include route-optimized guidance for picking in the warehouse, picking of the relevant items including the associated live entries, printing of delivery documents (including NVE labels or barcodes) for dispatch and transfer to the freight forwarder. The application has interfaces for customs clearance, connection to a B2B web shop for franchisees and connection to freight forwarders. The data exchange with forwarders or customs is done electronically based on EDI.
