Main customers are the aerospace and mechanical engineering industries. Westdeutscher Metallhandel supplies its partners just-in-time with sheets, plates, sections, tubes and rods in all common and many special aluminum alloys. Thanks to state-of-the-art production technology and uncompromising quality management, WMH also offers individual custom-made products for companies all over the world. Transparency and traceability of materials and processes play a decisive role in this. In 1975, WMH received its aerospace certification and is also one of only two companies in Germany to be certified according to EN 9100 (aerospace manufacturer) and EN 9120 (aerospace distributor). WMH is involved in the production of many assemblies of current models of the Airbus Group and other OEMs.

Convincing flexibility and innovation of Abas ERP

In 2005 the old business software reached its limits. The Essen-based company decided in favor of Abas ERP. The flexibility and innovation of the Abas software were decisive. Parallel to the ERP implementation, restructuring was carried out, processes were optimized or newly developed. The trading and service company is gradually implementing more and more Abas modules. In addition to the many Abas Essentials such as Sales, Purchasing, Materials Management, Disposition, Production, EDI, etc., WMH uses the Abas plug-in DMS, Abas Scan for mobile data entry and the enhancements BDE/T&A, CAQ/MES, CRM, CTI & Communication, Data Backup, Export & Customs, Wage & Salary and Sanction Check. Other highlights include the ERP link to the automated high-bay warehouse and the panel saw centers with cut optimization.
